Snowdon Street Level Crossing circa 1949 - 1951. This was the final section of the WHR to be dismantled, after the prospect of future traffic from the Croesor Tramway had faded. The track has already been lifted in the foreground.

Beyond the crossing lies the junction between the Festiniog & Portmadoc Slate Works branch (former Gorsedda line) and the Snowdon Flour Mill loop line. The WHR mainline continues on towards the Cambrian Crossing and Porthmadog New Stations (long since closed by the time of this scene). At this time, this was the edge of Porthmadog. The view of the School has since been lost.
