Title
The Croesor Tramway at Bryn-hyfryd.
Date
21/07/1960
The Croesor Tramway at Bryn-hyfryd, 21 July 1960. By this date only the upper section above the village still has rails in situ. Although official use of the line had ceased some two decades previously, the farmers in the valley used the remaining waggons for agricultural traffic. On the edge of sight is the opening of the long cutting (virtually the only example on the entire route). The slate waggon on the rails is an FR 2-ton iron vehicle, whilst the discarded wooden vehicle is one of the Rhosydd 2-plank waggons. The chassis visible in the distance is from another slate.
