Pont Goch (WSCo Oakeley Viaduct) from the Dinas Branch. This was taken near Rhiwbryfdir looking south towards Glan y Pwll circa 1949 - 1951. The vast tip on the right is from Oakeley. On the left, the substantial civil engineering of the Conwy Valley line shows how little space there was at the far end of this valley. The Afon Barlwyd, A470 Crimea Pass, Dinas Branch, and the standard-gauge, to say nothing of the multitude of wharves and the tramways that fed them, all overlapped and intersected one another via a impressive series of tunnels, bridges and embankments. The heavily overgrown rails lead towards Dinas Station.
