Palmerston in Boston Lodge Top Yard, 19 September 1955. By now stripped of many of its fittings, blast pipe, and the steam linkage that connected it to the hammer in the Blacksmiths Shop (right). This scene provides a side view of the Smithy Extension. Granite waggon (converted from 3-ton slate) in the background, and a wooden 2-ton slate waggon in the foreground with collapsed bodywork.
