Prince at Tan y Bwlch Station with a Down passenger train, circa 1903 - 1909. The locomotive has been turned to face downhill. Gale & Polden Postcard. The driver is Jarrett Davies and the guard is Charles Beresford. The train comprises one of the large Brown Marshalls bogie brake vans (No. 4 or 5), bogie carriages No. 15 & 16, one of the 'porthole' Small Birmingham 4-wheelers (No. 12 or 13) fitted with full glazed windows, two third class Small Birmingham carriages, and a third class Ashbury 4-wheeler bringing up the rear. Note the penny in the slow weighing machine outside the station building and removed centre road.
