Boston Lodge Bottom Yard, January 1955. The works is still largely derelict in this scene, although rolling stock has been brought in for repairs and inspection. Brown Marshalls bogie carriage No. 15 to the left on 2-Road has been shunted closer to the Erecting Shop, with Bowsider No. 19 and Brown Marshalls No. 16 yet to be moved in the background. Gunpowder Van No. 152 can also be glimpsed, having formerly been outside the Erecting Shop doors on 2-Road.
Moel Tryfan's rear bunker and frames occupy the right angled track running from the waggon turntable on 3-Road. The waggon turntable giving access to 1-Road from this track is visible on the right, having been recently freed from gorse foliage. The photographer is stood on the other turntable closest to the works doors. This connected 1-Road to the other longer right angled track that ran onto the waggon turntable outside Glan y Mor carriage sheds, running behind the Long Shed in the process. Both of these sections of yard railway were laid underneath 2-Road, which in turn was laid with removal sections that could be taken out when the right angled tracks were needed.
