Removed Dolrhedyn Bridge, July 1968. Improved Cwmorthin Road passing underneath. This bridge had originally replaced a level crossing. Merioneth County Council removed the bridge with the railway's permission, having given an undertaking to replace it if required, probably expecting that it would not be called upon to fulfil the obligation. Reinstallation was carried out after the new road, off the Stwlan Dam Road, was built. The new and improved road profile seen here meant that had a like for like bridge been put back, the road would have been rendered useless, the gap underneath being too small. As such the bridge today is slightly raised and the track has to go over a bump in the gradient. Note Capel Bethel in the background.
