Merddin Emrys on Gwyndy Bank with a Down train, July 1971. The lack of dome covers and red oxide boiler indicate that the locomotive is very newly returned to service with the Hunslet boiler. This could be a test train. Note the full cabside sheets (which were not fitted on the fireman's side). The driver is Evan Davies.
