Passenger train at Porthmadog New (North) Station, 11 August 1934. The train (hauled by Baldwin 590) comprises Ashbury summer carriage No. 26 (semi-glazed and lettered), Ashbury corridor No. 25 (single safety bars, large iron grab handles), Pickering Brake Composite No. 8 (twin bars on 3rd class), and a Hudson Toastrack (either 37 or 42 by this date).

The GWR signal box can be seen on the Cambrian Crossing, and the water tank and refreshment room can be made out just beyond the crossing at the original station. Snowdon Mill is prominent on the left, with the Festiniog & Portmadoc Slate Works chimney on the right.
