Moelwyn Tunnel North, looking north, 1949 - 1951. In the foreground is the point for the Brookes Quarry connection. RSCo ground frame on the right in the foreground - note the unusual (for the FR) lock arrangement. Moelwyn Cottage on right. The waggon had been appropriated by the tenant to carry shopping from Tanygrisiau during the closure. The metal gate in the distance marks the entrance to the siding which led to the Zinc Mine Incline (visible on the hillside). Buildings are also still in situ in the top left of the photograph.
