Livingston Thompson at Stesion Fain circa 1903 - 1905 with a Down train. The relatively short consist comprises one of the large Brown Marshall bogie brakevans, bogie carriage No. 15 or 16, Bowsider No. 19 or 20, a 3rd class Small Birmingham 4-wheeler, and unusually, a covered goods van as the rear vehicle. This is perhaps the earliest photograph to show the covered goods vans which were largely rebuilt from pre-existing goods waggons. This vantage point shows some good details of the LNWR station.
