Title
Llechwedd Quarry and Incline.
Llechwedd Quarry and Incline viewed from Oakeley, possibly Floor 5 Gloddfa Ganol circa 1974. The quarry working in the centre is the "Bon" which is the lower Llechwedd pit, complete with access road. The other Llechwedd workings are visible heading upwards and to the right.

The main exit incline runs through the middle of the picture starting at Pant y Afon and the Dinas Branch, just below the public road and heading up to Floor 3. Floor 5 mill and the winder for the up-haulage incline are upper right. Just visible below Floor 3 mill and the drumhouse is the Floor 2 mill which as been converted for the 'Quarry Tours' operation (part re-roofed, part rebuilt as a 2 storey structure). The flat area middle left is the tourist car park. Middle to lower right can be seen the horizontal tip tramway for Floor 2, the miners path sloping down to the right and the near vertical route of the water pipes to the hydro-electric generators at Pant y Afon. Spion Kop Incline can be glimpsed on the left in the foreground.
