Down slate train below Tanygrisiau on the 'new' embankment near Wrysgan incline, 1940. Based on maintenance records the Double Fairlie is Taliesin (II). The shore of Llyn Ystradau now covers this part of the line. The train is at a standstill, note the man walking along the wall beside the waggons. The locomotive may have been detached in order to shunt loaded slate waggons from Wrysgan onto the head of the train. Bryn Elltyd house in the background.
