Title
The Dinas Branch being lifted near Glan y Pwll.
Date
03/01/1956
The Dinas Branch being lifted near Glan y Pwll, 3 January 1956. Note the use of flat bottom rail on the right-hand line. Unlike the dual track on the mainline, these routes were not designated as separate passenger/goods routes. The Conwy Valley standard-gauge route can be seen on the right as the routes converge into the very narrow valley. The derelict Dinas station can be glimpsed in the distance. The Afon Barlwyd on the left had been diverted to follow the route of the new Dinas Branch when Oakeley required more land for its slate waste tips.
