Merddin Emrys at Porthmadog Harbour Station circa 1934. Locomotive newly returned to service, yet to be fitted with mechanical draincocks. The Goods Shed drain has been freshly painted. Matchboard 3rd class Small Birmingham 4-wheeler No. 4 behind the locomotive wearing the distinctive livery of the period. The objects on Merddin's bottom apron are interesting. They could be either, accumulators, the predecessors to batteries, or acetylene generators depending on the type of lamp in use.
