Spooner & Co designed locomotive Kelso at Pen yr Orsedd Quarry circa 1910. The photographer is facing south, with Llyn Nantlle and Nantlle Village visible in the distance. Note the aqueduct and water wheel powering the mill and the mixture of the 2 ft and 3 ft 6 in gauge track. The latter was for Nantlle Railway waggons, some of which can be seen waiting to descend the main series of exit inclines towards Tal y Sarn.

Source. unmarked photograph possibly taken by Bruce Peebles to show the power lines installed within the quarry. If so this would date it to just after their installation in 1906.
