Merddin Emrys at Porthmadog Harbour Station, Easter weekend 1956. From left to right are Gulliver the Labrador, David Laing, Robert Smallman (then only 20 years old, who had brought Gulliver for the weekend), Fred Boughey, Allan Garraway, and probably Arwyn Morgan. The locomotive had been thoroughly cleaned to provide members attending the AGM of the FR Society something to look at. It is still in old company condition, and it would be a further two years before the overhaul (really more of a rebuild) commenced.
