Second dry stone embankment below Tanygrisiau circa 1950. Afon Cwmorthin prominent in the foreground. The river flows out under the embankment via the large arch to the left of the pony. The smaller archway further along the embankment below Bryn Elltyd house is a passageway underneath the railway for pedestrians.
The course of the horse tramway at this point was a more sinuous one and ran behind the wall seen here, following the contours more closely. This earlier embankment survived alongside the improved formation seen here until the late 1950's. It is now buried underneath the power station access road.

Second dry stone embankment below Tanygrisiau.
Photograph taken by the late Bob Jones of Tanygrisiau, who went out to photograph things that he realised would be changed by the power station construction.
