Prince on a Down train at Whistling Curve, August 1962. John Dobson is the Guard on the left hand side of the van balcony. The train consists of brake vans Nos 1 & 2, quarrymen's carriage No. 8, Small Birmingham 4-wheeler carriages Nos 3, 4, 5, 6 (formerly 2), followed by Ashbury carriages Nos 22, 23 & 26 (ex-WHR summer carriages). This set had previously been used for the Flying Flea relief train, but by 1962 the peak service timetable was operating with two train sets.
