Old Moelwyn Tunnel South, Summer 1887. The derailed vehicle on the left is a braked PW trolley. Together with the tools and member of staff to the right, work was evidently being carried out on the track at this location. Note the width of the formation here, which during the horse-drawn era was the site of a stable and passing loop.
