Title
Garratt K1 at Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Date
26/03/1966
Garratt K1 on route to Porthmadog, seen here on the A470 at Blaenau Ffestiniog. It was being delivered from Beyer Peacock's Gorton Foundry in Manchester. The Pickfords lorry is a Scammell Highwayman. The locomotive's power units and tanks were transported separately. To the left can be seen the outskirts of the ex-LNWR exchange yard, whilst in the background Glanydon tip can be glimpsed, along with Oakeley's Spion Kop incline. This connected down to Pont Goch (the Welsh Slate Company's viaduct) which in turn led to Glanydon.
