Livingston Thompson in Tanybwlch Cutting on Up mixed train, 1901. Note what appears to be a toolbox on the front apron. The passenger train comprises a mk3 quarrymen's carriage, a 3rd class Small Birmingham 4-wheeler, bogie carriages Nos 15 & 16, and a large Brown Marshalls van (No. 4 or 5). Just visible behind are large 4-ton wooden coal waggons followed by the usual slates. This formation was used for a special wedding train the same day. The fireman is probably T. J. Thomas whilst the driver is John Parry Jones.
