The Baldwin Tractor outside the Snowdon Flour Mill loop siding at Porthmadog, 11 August 1936. The train is stood on the junction between the WHR mainline and the mill loop (to the right), the former Gorsedda Tramway line to the Festiniog & Portmadoc Slate Works (left). The visible train includes a granite waggon (converted from 3-ton slates) and an empty 2-ton slate waggon. The position of the rear waggon on the Gorsedda line indicates that the tractor has collected at least some of its waggons from the slate works.

Looking at Moelwyn, the fuel tank and sand bucket are prominent at the front of the locomotive. It carries the No. 11 and the distinctive wooden toolbox underneath the cab. To help crew up to the fuel tank, lumps of wood have been added to the mudguards. The bullet proof panel over the gearbox has been removed. The vacuum system is evidently in place but no bags are fitted, the locomotive was extensively used for goods traffic, including the Croesor Tramway, but was not suitable for mainline duties. The cab is fitted with tarpaulin against the elements and the couplings have been turned upside down. They would have had the slot on top originally.
