Title
The WHR south of Pont Croesor.
The WHR south of Pont Croesor (or Pont y Traeth to give it its local name) during August 1940. The farm buildings and the Welsh black cattle to the left help locate the scene, as does the right hand curve, of which there are very few along this section of the line. The Croesor valley and Cnicht dominate the skyline. It is important to consider that the Croesor Tramway was still in occasional use at this time and would continue so for another couple of years. Whether the occasional slate waggons required for the small amounts of traffic being sent down the inclines travelled along this section of the line is unclear.
