Title
Croesor Junction looking North.
Croesor Junction looking North, August 1940. The remains of the mk3 quarrymen's carriage had probably been used for the token staff instrument, as this was not only a junction between the WHR and the the tramway up the Croesor Valley, but also a loop where WHR trains met and swapped locomotives.

The mountains in the background are part the Snowdon Massif, including the peak Yr Aran. The Welsh Black Cattle are an appropriate reminder of how remote this location was, and even in WHR days it must have been a bleak posting on anything but the brightest of days. The nearer of the two lines runs away west towards the Parc Inclines and Croesor and Rhosydd beyond, whilst the WHR line turns sharply north towards the Aberglasyn Pass.
