Title
Moel Tryfan at Dinas Junction with a mixed train.
Moel Tryfan at Dinas Junction Station with a mixed train in 1930. Most of the visible passengers are women and children. The well loaded Ashbury summer carriage (un-glazed No. 27) is followed by an ex-WD type D Bocoal and WHR Brake Van No. 2. Note that the van, whilst fitted for vacuum, would not have allowed the guard to apply the continuous brakes on the carriage and locomotive, as the D-waggon is not piped. This looks to be loaded with coal (which would correspond with other photographs of these vehicles in service), suggesting it was bound for Beddgelert. The member of the crew in the waistcoat is Gronowy Roberts. Note the traversing jack laid on top of Moel Tryfan's tank (base facing out), the No. 11 stencilling on the rear buffer beam, and the exceptionally large lumps of coal in the coal bunker pilled up high to maximum capacity.
