Penlan Footbridge.

Footbridge above Penlan looking south circa 1945. Note the Down disc for Tanygrisiau & Cwmorthin Siding in the distance. Importantly, this is not Footbridge 2, but another footbridge, since lost, situated closer to the curve. The row of cottages on the left, along with other buildings along this section of the railway to the right of the photographer, have since been pulled down and are difficult to trace. The clear footpath to the right of the rails would have been a cause of very real danger in the wrong circumstances.
