Up mixed train on the 'new' embankment below Tanygrisiau circa 1935. The structures below the dry stone wall are sheepfolds and other agricultural buildings in the farming hamlet of Ty-newydd.
The train comprises one of the Ashbury tourist carriages (probably No. 22), Bowsiders Nos 17 & 18, Bogie Van No. 2, followed by the goods vehicles. These include multiple bolster waggons (both of the iron and wooden types), some 50 slate waggons, a gunpowder van, and a double balcony brake van (either No. 6 or 7) bringing up the rear.
