File metadata
Gravity Train entering Moelwyn Tunnel North in the 1920's. Tunnel cottages on the right near the original water balance incline. Note the brakeman walking along the top of the waggons to adjust brakes along the train. Under the old company such gravity operations, even when trains reached enormous lengths of well over 100 vehicles, only required two or three men. They would move along the train as seen here to adjust brakes on multiple waggons to keep the train under control.
