Pen y Bryn Garnedd looking south toward Garnedd Tunnel North portal, 1949 - 1951. The overgrowth on this section of the line was comparably slight to that which grew up elsewhere. The formation around the side of the rock outcrop to the left of the tunnel was one of multiple parts of the original route bypassed by subsequent upgrades, typically involving the easing of sharp curves.
