Brookes Quarry, 18 October 1952. Taken at the far end of the branch loop line looking into the the disused remains. Note the incline winding house to the left of the upper quarry. The remains of the crushing plant are to the left of the tramway from the lower quarry. Granite would be tipped into the upper level of the crushing plant, and the reduced rock was stored in the wooden hopper on the left of the structure. The building to the left of that is probably the manager's office/house. There is a small engine in front of it, and possibly a fallen stiffleg derrick to the left.
