James Spooner arriving at Porthmadog Harbour Station, 1886. Dated by service history; 1885 sand pots off boiler, 1887 cab fitted to locomotive. Bogie carriages 15 & 16 in two colour livery. Mk2 (b) Quarrymen's carriages on right, having been rebuilt with windowed doors. Note the signalling. Earliest known photograph of a train in motion.
